Milk bottles seem even more nostalic now than when I started making them over 20 years ago. When I was little, we had a milkman called Tony.  I would roll up messages or drawings and put them in the empty bottles for him and he'd reply, writing something quick about his early shift, which was always exciting to discover in the morning.

When studying Sculpture in Brighton, I'd hollow cast them in plaster, enough for a milk crate and would deliver them to doorsteps around Brighton with a rolled up note or poem inside.

Newer editions are slip cast earthenware and fired with an ice white, milky cold glaze. They are glazed on the inside too so can be used as a vase, or a milk jug, or have one simply sitting on your wall.
